About SwapAgent

SwapAgent is an LSEG service designed to simplify the processing, margining and settlement of non‑cleared derivatives. It benefits from LCH's expertise in serving and managing risk for the cleared Rates and FX derivatives market, providing market participants with solutions that materially improve standardisation, efficiency and simplicity in the non‑cleared derivatives market.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Developer to join the SwapAgent IT Development team based in London. The candidate must hold a Computer Science oriented degree and have proven Java development skills. They will work on the delivery of projects, carry out enhancements and provide support on a highly critical system, including occasional on‑night support.

Responsibilities
  • Think through requirements and provide thorough analysis, design & development.
  • Ensure timely delivery of developments to a high standard and quality.
  • Provide support to internal teams where necessary to promote successful production changes.
  • Create and maintain good documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with business areas and other technology teams.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years proven experience in server‑side Java development (JDK 17 mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, stored procedures (PostgreSQL preferred).
  • Experience with Cucumber, test automation, and test‑driven development.
  • Familiarity with FPML/XML, JAXB.
  • Good knowledge of JMS over MQ, Java 11, Spring Boot, Camel, Linux, Git, Jenkins.
  • Experience with provisioning and build tools; awareness of automated testing and unit tests.
Desirable Skills
  • PostgreSQL stored procedures, partitions, data types, and query tuning.
  • Experience developing with AWS, Terraform & Ansible.
  • Typescript/AngularJS.
