Job description

We are looking for an experienced IT Engineer who can support a large customer base across Norfolk. The role will see you both work onsite and float across their many clients helping support and implement solutions that will streamline the support fixing process.

A 2nd / 3rd Line Engineer, you will gather requirements and understand important pain points. Working with the larger team, you will implement new technology to stop some of the needless firefighting of 1st and 2nd line issues.

Key Responsibilities

Onsite engineers are responsible for the smooth running of clients’ computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefit from them, tasks include :

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications;
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
  • Talking clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues;
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware / software faults;
  • Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
  • Supporting the roll-out of new applications;
  • Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time;
  • Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with clients and other professionals;
  • Testing and evaluating new technology;
