Job summary

A technology security firm in Greater London is seeking a skilled researcher to analyze and identify vulnerabilities in Apple platforms. The ideal candidate has experience in both high-level and low-level programming, as well as knowledge of reverse engineering techniques specifically for ARM64 architectures. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the security industry is required.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python and Rust is necessary.
  • Expertise in low level languages including C, C++, and Objective C is essential.
  • Experience in reverse engineering ARM64 is a must.
  • Direct experience with vulnerability research on Apple platforms is required.
  • Knowledge of runtime internals, platform security features, and exploit mitigations is important.

Responsibilities

  • Identify vulnerabilities in Apple platforms using static and dynamic analysis.
  • Develop Proof‑of‑Concepts for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Use common VR toolsets and develop custom tools.
  • Present findings in an accessible way.
  • Attend internal and external training and conferences.

Job description

We are looking for experienced and passionate people who have a background in vulnerability research, offensive security and reverse engineering on Apple platforms.

The role:
  • You’ll join our team looking to identify vulnerabilities in Apple platforms using both static and dynamic analysis techniques
  • You’ll develop Proof‑of‑Concepts for vulnerabilities identified
  • You’ll use common VR toolsets such as fuzzers and reverse engineering tools; as well as have access to custom tooling built in-house (as well as developing your own!)
  • You’ll need to present your findings in a useful and accessible way to others
  • You’ll have access to internal and external training and conferences to refine and hone your skillsets
The ideal candidate:
  • Previous experience in the security industry
  • Experience in modern programming languages such as Python and Rust
  • Experience in low level languages such as C, C++, Objective C, etc
  • Experience reverse engineering ARM64
  • Direct experience in vulnerability research and/or reverse engineering on Apple platforms
  • Significant experience in the low‑level internals of Apple platforms, including topics such as runtime internals, platform security features, exploit mitigations and the XNU kernel
  • Interested and passionate about learning new things, taking things apart, and getting stuck into new problems and challenges

The location:

You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely, from our office in the centre of Basingstoke, UK (6‑minute walk from the local shopping centre & train station) or from our London office (Southwark).
