As a Senior Information Security Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and enforcing security policies, conducting risk assessments, and implementing advanced security technologies. Your expertise will help us maintain compliance with industry standards while proactively identifying vulnerabilities and mitigating risks. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

You’ll be based at our Severn Trent Centre head office in Coventry. You’ll work within our dedicated Cyber Security function. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, working Monday to Friday.

You’ll have experience of working within Information Security operations and engineering functions, with further experience in the development and documentation of integrated solution and detailed designs.
In terms of qualifications, preferably you’ll have achieved an industry recognised certification, such as CCSP, CISSP, or a BCS certificate in information security.
Ideally, you'll have a strong understanding of critical security controls across multiple domains, such as: Identity & Access Management, Endpoint Protection, Network Security, Office 365 & Email Security, Application Security, Cloud Platform Security, and Operational Technology Security. Additionally, we’d like to see experience leading complex initiatives across both cloud and on‑premise environments, with specific focus in either Azure or AWS.
As you’ll be leading a team, you’ll need to possess experience of mentoring, coaching, and developing peers and be able to articulate ways to develop and help the team overcome adversities.
Whilst very technical, this role requires you to have the ability to influence decision‑making across different teams, using logical thinking and problem‑solving skills to mediate a variety of challenges.
