Job summary

A respected independent school in North West London is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to shape its people strategy and foster a positive workplace culture. Our client, a highly regarded independent day school in North West London, is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to drive its people strategy and help foster a positive, thriving workplace for all staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the development and implementation of the school’s people strategy, promoting a culture of wellbeing, inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert HR advice to senior leaders and managers on employment law, employee relations, organisational change and HR best practice.
  • Oversee high-quality HR operations, including safeguarding compliance, HR procedures and policy development.
  • Champion equity, diversity and inclusion across all areas of the school.
  • Use HR data and analytics to support workforce planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Drive staff engagement, retention and professional development initiatives.
  • Line-manage the HR, Payroll & Pensions Administrator to ensure smooth and compliant HR administration.
Person Specification
Essential
  • CIPD Level 5 (or above) or equivalent HR leadership experience.
  • Strong strategic and operational HR background, including experience supporting senior leaders.
  • Confidence handling complex employee relations, change management and organisational development.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion and a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality and wellbeing.
Desirable
  • Experience working within an educational or independent school environment.
  • Understanding of sector-specific recruitment and retention challenges.
