A community healthcare organization in Burgh St. Peter is seeking compassionate individuals for a Band 3 Rehabilitation Support Worker role. The position focuses on hands-on care, aiding patients in regaining independence and providing support during end-of-life stages. Successful candidates will work under professional supervision and contribute to high-quality care in a multidisciplinary team. This role requires availability for nights and weekends, with a clear pathway for development from Band 2 to Band 3.

Our nurse and therapist‑led Intermediate Care Unit offers a rewarding setting, focused on rehabilitation and reablement, with six Specialist Palliative Care inpatient beds. We use a team nursing and therapy approach, delivering person‑centred care, with support workers working directly alongside qualified nurses or therapists in a collaborative environment.
This Band 3 role is ideal for experienced support staff. If you are less experienced, you can start as a Band 2 Rehabilitation Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant, with a clear development pathway to progress to Band 3 through training and supervised practice.

The post holder will be part of a dedicated team of support workers trained in a range of essential clinical and care skills. Working under the supervision of registered professionals, they will provide direct, hands‑on care and contribute to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care that supports both rehabilitation and end‑of‑life needs.
You will play an active role in helping patients regain independence, as well as providing comfort and support in the final stages of life. You will be expected to deliver delegated care and clinical interventions in line with your training and competencies.
This is a hands‑on physical role ideal for individuals with a compassionate nature and a proactive approach to learning and development.

The Unit presently comprises 20 intermediate care beds delivering rehabilitation and 6 Specialist Palliative Care (SPC) beds in a purpose‑designed setting. For our intermediate care patients our aims are to reduce acute hospital admission and facilitate early discharge by utilising the skills of the multidisciplinary team of nurses and therapists. For the SPC patients we aim to provide holistic symptom management and end‑of‑life care.
