Role: Senior Health and Safety Lead
Location: Central London
Salary: £72,000 per annum + package
Report to: Head of People Operations
Hybrid, 3 days in the office

Seeking a forward thinking, proactive, experienced Health and Safety professional who is a proven leader to come and drive the company forward. This role would suit a seasoned professional who has experience of taking the lead strategically as well as able to roll up their sleeves when needed. This position comes with a direct report – H&S Advisor, who you will coach and mentor.

This is a multisite position, covering both contemporary and historical buildings, all of which are in central london.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety strategies, policies, systems and procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff, visitors, and contractors. Continually review and update strategies to align with current trends and legislative changes.
  • Foster a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation working across both office and public facing environments.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and ensure that all practices within the office, library, and museum meet legal requirements.
  • Oversight of Health & Safety related to continually changing projects/exhibitions in a public facing environment.
  • Design and deliver engaging health and safety training programmes for employees, managers, and any external partners.
  • Ensure all staff are knowledgeable about emergency procedures and other safety protocols.
  • Own audit framework and conduct regular audits and site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety
  • Implement corrective actions and improvements as necessary.
  • Compile and maintain detailed reports on health and safety performance, compliance issues, and audit findings.
  • Present findings to senior management and recommend improvements based on data analysis.
  • Lead investigations into health and safety incidents and accidents.
  • Implement strategies to prevent recurrence and ensure prompt reporting to relevant authorities.
  • Budget management for H&S
  • Stakeholder management, collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to promote health and safety awareness and address any concerns.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all health and safety-related queries.
  • Foster an inclusive culture by embodying our values, behaviours and inclusive workplace practices.
  • Manage and motivate an integrated, agile and high impact team, ensuring that we have the right people in roles to effectively delivery

Essential Qualifications/ Experience
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding and experience of public facing environments like Museums, Libraries, Charities, Retail, exhibition centres
  • Change management, building upgraded, special events and digitalisation
