Senior Financial Accountant

Location: London – Hybrid Working

Salary: Circa £65,000 + excellent benefits

Level: Qualified – ACCA/CIMA/ACA

Cedar is working with a leading transport sector organisation to recruit a qualified Senior Financial Accountant. This role offers the chance to join a well-established finance team in Central London and play a key role in external reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the preparation and review of periodic balance sheet and cashflow reporting.
  • Lead the statutory accounts process, annual audit, and IFRS 16 reporting (essential requirement).
  • Manage external reporting requirements including VAT, PSA, Corporation Tax, and ORR submissions.
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors and oversee the full audit lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance on accounting standards and support complex accounting judgements.
  • Drive balance sheet reconciliations and ensure strong financial controls.
  • Support the Financial Reporting Manager with ad hoc projects and team deliverables.
Key Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with solid post-qualification experience.
  • Proven IFRS 16 experience is a must.
  • Background in the rail or wider transport industry would be advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modelling).
  • Experience with SAP, SAP BI, or BPC is advantageous.
  • Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
