Senior Finance Officer

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Grade E £33,143 per annum

Location: Headquarters, Ripley

Hours: 37 hours per week, however you may occasionally need to work beyond normal office hours.

Agile working arrangements can be discussed with the successful candidate.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Finance Team to be part of the section that provides efficient and effective financial support and data to all sections of the organisation in a professional manner.

You will be required to act as the senior lead within the Finance Team, supervising the day-to-day function of, and staff within the Team in order to meet our objectives.

You will be required to deputise on behalf of the Finance Team Manager (FTM) in their absence, including assisting the FTM in ensuring that the Finance function complies with the Authority’s Financial Regulations, internal policies and any external legislation from HMRC. The Finance Team works across all Ledgers including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger. The role includes working with the Agresso/Unit4 Business World Integrated Finance System, Microsoft products including Excel, Outlook & Word and travel booking systems to facilitate many aspects of the role.

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE's (Grade A to C) or Grade 4 and above or equivalent including Maths & English.
  • Recent & significant experience working in a finance office including any managerial, mentoring or supervisory experience.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge & full understanding of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functionality; demonstrating the importance of accurate and compliant processing of invoices, raising sales invoices and recording income whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • Be able to confidently deal with customers/suppliers, at all levels, making decisions at a supervisory level during the absence of the FTM, whilst complying with and adhering to all relevant financial and administrative procedures.
  • Working with and where applicable improving, financial software packages and spreadsheets.
