Recruiting for an Assistant Finance Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a dynamic and supportive team.

Purpose of the Job

Undertake and maintain the day-to-day tasks in a financial department. Assisting the Finance Manager in the preparation of the monthly financial reports. Work within the team and provide support in all aspects of the finance department as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bank reconciliation for company/s various accounts.
  • Oversee the Finance Assistant.
  • Update and maintain the major job sheets, liaising with the Project Managers and Contract Support.
  • Set up and maintain the fixed asset register, including the set up of any HP agreements. know how to do the disposal of assets.
  • Post and reconcile accruals and prepayments.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager in the preparation of the MI data, ensuring all costs and journals are processed.
  • Payroll: Compile the timesheets, labour reports, overtime, sickness, etc., as well as pension compliance and processing of expenses across both companies (Finance Manager processes the payment only).
  • Processing P11D s.
  • Maintain direct debit records for the weekly cash flow report.
  • Set up and maintenance of yearly insurance documents.
  • Training and supervision of the finance team.
  • Update and maintain all spreadsheets that are required for the MI and financial processes.
  • KPI reporting.
  • Compliance with HMRC PAYE and VAT.
  • Assisting with audits and collating information and reports.
  • Maintain and improve existing integration with CAFM and finance software.
Personal Specification
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills Excel, Sage, always being ahead of new technologies.
  • Financial statements and balance sheet recs, AAT studying or qualified.
  • High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
  • Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
