Senior Family Support Worker

Location : Various across Lancashire

Service : Children’s Services – Early Help Service

Are you passionate about making a difference for children, young people, and families? We are looking for Senior Family Support Workers to join our Early Help Service across Lancashire. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support frontline teams delivering high-quality early help interventions.

About the Role

As a Senior Family Support Worker, you will :

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of frontline staff (typically 5–10 direct reports).
  • Deliver targeted early help support through one of three key service themes : Intensive Support – Whole-family casework for complex needs. Neighbourhood Support – Overseeing group programmes and family time provision. Community Support – Working with schools and partners to coordinate early interventions.
  • Manage resources, monitor performance, and ensure high standards of practice.
  • Work collaboratively with partners to improve outcomes for children and families.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Substantial experience in early help services and supervising staff.
  • Strong understanding of thresholds, evidence-based interventions, and multi-agency working.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
