Senior Fabricator - 27,000 to 30,500 - Clacton-on-Sea

A new opportunity is available for an experienced Fabricator to join a busy and growing workshop team. This position involves hands‑on fabrication work, supporting the production of bespoke structures, and contributing to the smooth running of daily operations.

The role includes cutting materials, assembling custom builds, and working directly from CAD and SolidWorks drawings. It also involves photo documentation of completed work, supporting stock rotation activities, and maintaining a safe, well‑organised working environment. While not a formal supervisory role, this position requires someone who leads by example, supports colleagues, and contributes positively to continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut and assemble materials to specification, following processes and cut programs
  • Work from CAD and SolidWorks drawings to produce accurate, high‑quality builds
  • Support workflow and production targets through effective teamwork
  • Capture and upload photos of completed jobs following quality control procedures
  • Assist with stock management and inventory checks
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, wearing PPE at all times
  • Report any hazards and contribute to a safe working environment
  • Carry out housekeeping duties and assist with equipment maintenance
  • Support team members and contribute to departmental improvements
Skills & Experience Required
  • Practical experience in fabrication and working with cutting/assembly tools
  • Ability to interpret CAD and SolidWorks drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate work
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues
  • Understanding of quality control, documentation, and stock rotation
  • A proactive, reliable, and safety‑focused approach
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage daily tasks
  • Experience working within ISO9001 environments is an advantage
