Job summary

A prestigious membership society in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Event Coordinator for a six-month contract to manage event logistics and supplier negotiations. The ideal candidate has experience delivering corporate events end to end, possesses excellent organisational skills, and can multitask effectively under pressure. This role offers a supportive environment and 48 holiday days per annum.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in supporting planning and delivering a broad calendar of events.
  • Manage events bookings using an internal event booking system.
  • Liaise with external event suppliers.
  • Negotiate rates with suppliers.
  • Oversee day-to-day event logistics.
  • Handle event-related problems.
  • Assist with event expectations.
  • Brief support staff for events.
  • Work with internal teams such as finance and marketing.
  • Ensure all events comply with health and safety policies.
  • Undertake risk assessments.
  • Produce routine event evaluation reports.
  • Provide support on-site.

THE COMPANY

The success of the society stems from its calendar of events that includes 4 large scale topical conferences plus smaller scale meetings across the year. The internal events team work closely to bring industry specialists together, offering career advice and guidance.

THE ROLE

They are now looking for a Senior Event Coordinator to join their team on a contract basis to undertake the following duties :

  • Taking the lead in supporting planning and delivering a broad calendar of events
  • Managing events bookings using an internal event booking system
  • Liaising with external event suppliers
  • Negotiating rates with suppliers
  • Overseeing day to day event logistics
  • Dealing with any event related problems
  • Assisting with event expectations
  • Briefing any support staff for events
  • Working with internal teams such as finance and marketing
  • Ensuring all events comply with health and safety policies
  • Undertaking risk assessments
  • Producing routine event evaluation reports
  • Continuing support on site
THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering corporate events end to end, having exposure to the full life cycle of a project. You will have strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi task whilst working under pressure.
