I am working with a Main Contractor that is looking for a Senior Estimator to join the team to support the growth of the business as they expand into Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cheshire helping with Major Projects with the potential to progress into more senior roles.

Package offered for this Senior Estimator Role


  • £65,000 to £80,000 (depending on experience)

  • 6% pension contributions

Key responsibilities for this senior Quantity Surveyor role


  • Lead and manage the Estimating team, overseeing Resource Allocation and acting as Estimator when required

  • Review Tender Documents, Drawings, and Specifications to Produce Accurate Costings and Ensure Compliant Design Proposals

  • Coordinate with Planning and Engineering Teams to Establish Methods, Outputs, and Plant Requirements, including Subcontractor Analysis

  • Manage Pricing of Preliminaries, General Expenses, Plant Schedules, and Risk Assessments, Ensuring Accurate Financial Submissions

  • Oversee Bid Preparation and Tender Submissions, Present Proposals to Clients, and Respond to Post Tender Queries

  • Ensure Effective Commercial Handover to Project Teams and Provide Mentoring and Technical Guidance to Estimators and Bid Teams


What you need to be considered for this Senior Quantity Surveyor


  • 10+ years' experience as a Senior Estimator (Residential, Refurbishment or Distribution Centres)

  • Experience Tendering Single Stage or Two Stage

  • Have a valid CSCS card

  • Proficient in IT, numeracy, and Microsoft Office, with essential knowledge of Estimating Systems

  • Strong interpersonal and Communication Skills, with the ability to build effective relationships under pressure

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Experience in Leading Teams is desirable

  • Proven track record in Managing the Estimating Process within the Construction Industry

  • Solid understanding of Pricing and Quantification methods is required

  • Membership of a relevant professional body and / or relevant professional qualification is desirable, such as RICS / CIOB / RIBA / ICE / CIBSE
