Responsibilities
- Implement innovative fixes, even when they haven’t been previously attempted.
- As a member of our exceptional team, play a vital role in keeping our infrastructure solutions running smoothly. Respond to incidents and rectify technical problems, or identify where performance could be optimised and security risks minimised. Implement resolutions while ensuring high-quality service for customers.
- Identify patterns and trends in repeat issues and faults and determine changes that need to be made to develop your expertise each day.
- Collaborate with customers, external teams and suppliers; work with colleagues across the department to explore innovative approaches to configuring, installing and reconfiguring our database and related products. Translate architect’s drawings, diagrams and data flows; help less experienced colleagues learn as you work.
- Create, assess and update technical and functional documentation; maintain your own professional development and introduce the latest technologies to the team.
- Protect the UK’s interests by minimising security risks and optimising performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Significant experience in an agile ITIL environment including supporting systems operations in an enterprise setting; expert Microsoft product certifications.
- Practitioner-level knowledge of programming and supporting hardware, software and Cloud systems; proven track record of providing effective solutions in a high-pressured team. Background in security-focused environments (e.g., MOD or equivalent) is possible.
- Experience with Azure/AWS cloud deliverables and administrative knowledge working in a cloud environment.
- Essential experience with monitoring applications and reporting tools; core skills in general infrastructure knowledge and networking principles.
- Experience with backup solutions such as VEEAM; essential experience in AD/WinTel (DNS, Group Policy, PKI certificate authentication).
- Analytical mindset; ability to draft and interpret professional and technical documents. Good understanding of change and release management; desirable experience in other ITIL4 environments.
