A leading ecological consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist in the Liverpool City Region. In this role, you will lead field surveys, manage technical reports, and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, and a relevant degree. Are you an experienced ecologist looking to step into a senior role where your expertise will make a real impact? We’re looking for a driven and knowledgeable Senior Ecologist to work on a range of projects across the North West as well as mentoring junior staff.
Leading field surveys and assessments (e.g. Phase 1/UKHab, protected species, EcIA).
Managing and delivering high-quality technical reports and mitigation strategies.
Overseeing project timelines, budgets, and client communications.
Contributing to business development and proposal writing.
Supporting and mentoring junior team members to help them grow.
Proven experience in ecological consultancy or a related field.
Strong technical expertise in habitat and/or protected species surveys.
Excellent knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
A relevant degree and CIEEM membership (Associate or above).
Protected species licences (e.g. bats, GCN) highly desirable.
Skilled in data interpretation, GIS, and report writing.
