Job summary

A leading technology solutions provider in London is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer. This role involves implementing infrastructure as code pipelines, with a focus on Kubernetes and Terraform. Experience in virtualization and CI/CD is essential, along with the ability to liaise with end-users. This position offers a hybrid working model with 1-2 days required on-site in central London.

Senior DevOps Engineer with strong Kubernetes knowledge/experience and experience with infrastructure as Code development (Terraform) and ideally expereince of virtualisation projects is needed to support our Higher Education client to implement infrastructure as code pipelines for deploying research-supporting applications within social science applications.

Responsibilities

• Implement infrastructure as code pipelines for deploying research-supporting applications and associated services on private cloud (on-prem) infrastructure using Virtual Machines and Kubernetes.
• Experience deploying applications with Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code development (Terraform).
• Liaise with end-users to gather requirements, ensuring that application deployments meet their needs and that available resources are used efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience with virtualization projects, awareness of VMware.
• Experience of using Ansible and GitHub.
• Knowledge of public/private cloud.
• Experience within a Higher Education environment, particularly working with research/academic stakeholders to translate their requirements into technical solutions.
• Knowledge of Python and Rstudio or Rancher or Kubernetes cluster on Harvester.

Work arrangement

Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week on site in central London.
