About this opportunity…

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Commercial Lending Platform, responsible for design, implementation, maintenance, and support of DevOps pipelines and tooling at a Feature/Lab team level, aligning with Group Strategy.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll help grow our business, improve client experience, and transform our ways of working, making a difference to millions through our brands like Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Bank.

What you’ll do

• Ensure DevOps implementations are stable, scalable, and performant at a Feature team/Lab level.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps specialists, engineers, suppliers, and partners.
• Learn new techniques and programming languages; solve problems proactively.
• Support our transition to containerization and cloud technologies.
• Automate and simplify processes to improve product quality.
• Mentor early career engineers and participate in technical hiring.

What you’ll need

• Azure DevOps experience and familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GIT, Nexus, Maven, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Harness.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Kibana.
• Strong coaching skills to enable feature teams’ understanding of DevOps.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages like Node.js & React.
• Knowledge of microservice architecture and design principles.

It would be great if you had…

• Experience with Kafka ecosystem, event-driven architectures, and related tools.
• Advanced Kubernetes skills, including ingress, service mesh, and stateful applications.
• Experience with observability patterns using Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing.
• Hands-on Terraform experience for Azure infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of cloud security practices (DevSecOps).
