In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the design, development and delivery of complex composite components and the tooling that enables their manufacture. As a senior member of the team, your experience and technical leadership will help shape best practice, raise design standards and support the growth of less experienced designers.

  • Develop layouts, schemes and concepts for advanced composite assemblies, ensuring optimal performance, integration and manufacturability
  • Create high-quality CAD models and detailed drawings for composite components
  • Design, manage and document all associated composite tooling
  • Produce comprehensive manufacturing and build information for composite production processes, including layup definitions, material specifications and quality requirements
  • Work closely with manufacturers and production teams to ensure accuracy, feasibility and clarity in design communication
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and supervision to Graduate and Composite Designers
  • Challenge established thinking by bringing forward new ideas, methods and continuous improvement initiatives

What do you need to bring to the team?

  • Previous experience in Formula 1® or top-tier motorsport is essential, with a strong background in composite component design across bodywork, wings, aerodynamic surfaces or structural assemblies
  • High proficiency in CAD software, preferably CATIA 3DX, with a strong record of producing accurate, efficient and innovative design solutions
  • Strong understanding of composite materials, component design, tooling and manufacturing processes, supported by a relevant Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage your own workload, support others and operate effectively in time-pressured environments
  • Self-motivated, collaborative and proactive, with strong IT literacy (including MS Office) and a positive contribution to an inclusive, open team culture
