A local government authority is seeking a Senior Communications Officer to support its Public Health team. The successful candidate will create and implement communication strategies, engaging with various stakeholders through diverse channels. Ideal for someone with strong copywriting skills and experience in public health communications. This role offers a salary range of £41,771 to £46,141, along with generous benefits including flexible working options and health support.
We are looking for a self-motivated, creative individual with strong copy writing and planning skills to undertake the role of Senior Communications officer in the Communications team.
This particular role will support Southampton City Council’s Public Health team on communications strategies to deliver targeted messages to residents, colleagues and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Communications Manager for Wellbeing, you will be responsible for creating and implementing communications and engagement plans for a variety of projects. You will use a range of communications channels, from digital to traditional PR.
This role will suit someone with an empathetic approach, strong copywriting skills, writing for different audiences, creating content for different social media channels, and experience of working closely with the media and building relationships. Filming and editing experience is desirable, and the successful candidate should have a willingness to learn.
