Senior Commercial Finance Analyst

We're excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team at Domestic & General.
As a key member of the team, you will be a subject matter expert in commercial modelling, pricing, and planning, delivering advanced analysis to inform both strategic and tactical decisions. Your insights will help shape profitable, customer‑centric propositions and drive business performance.
What you'll do:
- Partner with Underwriting, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure profitability across new and existing warranty products.
- Analyse financial and performance data to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement strategies to optimise results.
- Build and maintain commercial models that highlight profitable opportunities and support decision‑making for senior management and clients.
- Solve complex challenges across warranty, systems, and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares and owns forecasts, budgets and business case inputs for assigned sectors (ensuring consistency of approach across assigned sectors) and identify areas for improvement.
- Sets commercial strategy for sector in terms of commercial constructs and revenue generation; manages a portfolio of warranty products and client accounts.
- Ensuring commercial arrangements deliver against target margins through developing and maintaining accurate and complex financial models.
- Owns and enhances modelling frameworks to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and present commercial propositions to senior management and external clients.
- Partners with product, marketing, and operations to deliver value.
- Liaises with all commercial areas of the D&G business to deliver profitable warranty products, including applying appropriate regulatory requirements.
- Develops and delivers creative solutions to complex warranty design problems.
- Delivers high‑value analysis for product profitability and pricing, supporting innovative solutions for commercial challenges.
- Provides coaching to analysts and junior team members.
Skills and experience required:
- Strong expertise in commercial modelling, pricing strategies, and financial planning.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in presenting findings and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Sound experience using Advanced Excel to help review large sets of data analysis to support commercial decision making.
- Effective communication skills.
- High numerical skills and critical thinking.
- Solid organisational skills and ability to multi‑task.
