An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Fellow within the Urology Department for six months. The post will provide a great opportunity to receive further specialist experience in Urology.
The continuously evolving and dynamic urology department is looking for a motivated individual to support current services. The urology team comprises five consultants and seven registrars, including deanery trainees.
The role is a fixed‑term 6‑month contract. Benefitting from Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be part of a high‑performing NHS Trust committed to staff wellbeing and professional development.
On‑call commitment at Luton will be on a 5‑day week (08:00‑17:00) with a 1 in 7 rota, prospective cover for annual and study leave, and one night per week (non‑resident). One weekend covering 48 hours occurs 1 in 7 weeks.
Non‑elective admissions are initially the responsibility of the on‑call consultant, with ongoing care transferred to the receiving consultant at the end of the hot week.
Regular MDT team meetings, in‑house teaching, and monthly quality and safety meetings provide an environment for continued learning. The appointee is expected to lead teaching and training schedules for junior doctors.
Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers two busy hospital sites in Bedford and Luton, key services such as A&E, obstetrics‑led maternity and paediatrics. The Trust supports career growth with a high‑quality training and development programme.
