Job description
Job Overview

This post is an exciting opportunity to join the Oncology Department at The Royal Free Hospital. It combines an outpatient clinic, research component and support for the Acute Oncology Service (AOS) at the RFH site. The position is available from March 2026 for a period of 6 months.

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with Consultant Oncologists, AOS nursing staff, Oncology Specialist Trainees and junior grade doctors to assess and manage patients presenting with acute oncology needs.
  • Provide exposure to oncology out‑patient clinics, radiotherapy planning, SACT prescribing and clinical trials.
  • Take part in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and contribute to research/QIP activities.
  • Support administrative duties and audit work.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Oncology is desirable but not essential – the role will be matched to a junior or senior level based on experience.
  • Experience in Internal Medicine at IMT2 or equivalent level is required.
  • Suitable candidates include those pursuing a CESR route of Oncology training or post‑CCT applicants.
  • Will join a team of 10 specialist registrars, 2 senior clinical fellows and an IMT3.

  • Monday – 09:00‑13:00 RT planning, 13:00‑17:00 Clinic prep
  • Tuesday – 09:00‑13:00 Uro‑Oncology Clinic (RFH), 13:00‑17:00 Uro‑Oncology Clinic (RFH)
  • Wednesday – 09:00‑13:00 Admin, 13:00‑17:00 Research/QIP/Radiotherapy planning
  • Thursday – 09:00‑13:00 Uro‑Oncology Clinic (BGH), 13:00‑17:00 Uro‑Oncology Clinic (BGH)
  • Friday – 09:00‑13:00 MDT/Admin, 13:00‑17:00 MDT/Admin
