We are looking for a Senior Clinical Fellow to join the Urology Team at Chorley and South Ribble District Hospital and Royal Preston Hospital.
The post is for an initial period of twelve months.
Clinical duties of the post will be to support the Consultant medical staff in the provision of urological services at Preston and Chorley and South Ribble District Hospital.
Applicants should hold a full driving licence as you will be required to commute between both hospital sites.
You will have the opportunity to attend the regular operating sessions with the Clinical Team to assist with major surgery and be trained in basic surgical skills under the close supervision of the Consultant. You may be expected to assist in the operating sessions of other teams from time to time and co-/perform emergency operations.
The main duties of this post consist of the following:
Modern Education Centres are based at both Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital sites and offer excellent library and study facilities, including PC/Internet support for staff and students.
As a teaching hospital, we encourage all our staff to participate in teaching and training at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are committed to developing our teaching and academic activities and can facilitate meeting any training needs for these roles. You will be expected to take on the role of educational supervisor for doctors in training attached to the department.
We support the requirements for Continuing Medical Education as laid down by the Royal Colleges and are committed to providing time and financial support for these activities.
You will receive the full support of the Trust and the Directorate to develop specialist areas of interest in line with Directorate business plans and the development of services generally within the Trust.
