How you will create an impact

The Talbot Hull team provides coverage for many types of commercial vessel and pleasure craft, on an all risks or total loss only basis. As a Senior Class Underwriter in the Hull team, you will play a lead role in managing and developing the portfolio whilst overseeing a small team of Underwriters.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to.

  • Support new business, exposure growth and diversification of the portfolio.
  • Implement marketing plans, including opportunities for cross-selling and developing new products.
  • Ensure underwriters with Hull authority underwrite in accordance with personal underwriting authority.
  • Facilitate career development and progression of team members.
  • Be a presence in the Lloyd’s market to maintain and develop broker relationships.
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Deep expertise as a Lloyd’s market Hull Underwriter is essential.
  • Detailed knowledge of a broad range of marine Hull products.
  • Chartered Insurance Institute – Advanced Diploma or extensive market experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Able to prioritize.
  • Strong team work ethic.
  • Verbal, written and professional presence and ability to communicate at all levels with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Assertive
  • Calm, rational and methodical approach.
