Job description

We Build Recruitment are looking to hire a Senior Estimator on behalf of our client, a leading steelwork and mechanical installation specialist, to join their new cladding and facades division.

The candidate will have extensive experience managing the whole estimating & tendering process from initial enquiry through to securing purchased orders.

Having excellent technical & commercial experience and competence will contribute to their collaborative and flexible ways of working with clients. You will also need to be friendly, communicative, able to talk to clients, able to work as part of a team.

A deep familiarity with the following systems and products:

• Standing seam roof systems.
• Composite roof systems and wall panels.
• Built up roof systems and wall panels.
• Zinc alternative roof and wall systems.
• Flat roofs.
• Liquid applied roofing.
• Built up wall systems.
• Commercial rainscreen cladding.
• Architectural facades.
• Warm roof single ply.
• Guttering and rain pipes.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the estimating of cladding and façade systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project specifications, drawings and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates and addendums for projects.
• Conduct thorough analysis of labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs associated with projects. Collaborate with Project Managers, other team members to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
• Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates on cost performance and variances.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings and during the estimation process.
• Maintain an organised database of past estimates for future reference and benchmarking purposes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all estimations.
• Produce quotations covering all aspects of cladding, metal roofing and facades.
• Produce accurate quantity take offs to determine accurate project costs.
• Strong understanding of supplier costs with strong relationships.
• Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with clients and team members.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Requirements:

• A minimum of at least 5 years of experience as a cladding and facades estimator.
• Indepth knowledge of cladding, façade and roofing systems.
• Experience working directly with main contractors and end clients.
• Knowledge of specific manufacturers' systems and competitive prices for these systems.
• Work in accordance with the client lead times for quotation submittals.
• Provide clear and detailed handovers with the operations team.
• Good working experience with Microsoft Office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Personable and able to work within a team environment, whilst displaying independence and initiative.
