Overview
Senior Civil Engineering Technician – Location: Hampshire. Salary: 35k - 45k dependent on experience.
Emtech are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technician to join an established design team. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in delivering high-quality technical drawings and supporting engineers across a broad range of civil engineering projects, with a particular focus on residential and infrastructure developments.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a technician role.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (essential).
- Proven experience in the design and delivery of highways (including S278/S38) and drainage schemes for residential developments.
- Experience working collaboratively with local authorities, developers, and architects on civil engineering aspects of residential, commercial, and care/retirement schemes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proactive and accountable approach to work.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience on large-scale, multi-phase developments.
- Proficiency in Site3D, Civil 3D, or PDS.
- Experience supporting projects throughout all stages, from planning through to working drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain high-quality design drawings in accordance with project and client requirements.
- Produce construction details and bespoke design solutions based on engineer input and sketches.
- Support civil engineers in the production of technical drawings for drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes.
- Undertake quality assurance checks on drawings produced within the team.
- Ensure adherence to CAD standards across all outputs.
- Manage and maintain large-scale drawings, including combined topographical surveys and title plan compilations.
- Develop and maintain construction detail databases, key/legend templates, and standard resources.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including developers, architects, and local authorities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Support regional offices and departments through knowledge sharing and technical collaboration.
