Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer

Location: Hull

A great opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer to join a growing consultancy in Hull. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys delivering high quality civil, drainage and SuDS design across a wide variety of development sectors, while supporting the technical growth of a busy and collaborative engineering team. With continued expansion planned, this is an excellent time to play a key part in shaping the civil engineering capability of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of drainage, external works, SuDS, levels and adoptable infrastructure across education, commercial, residential, industrial, food, petrochemical and energy projects.
  • Produce technical reports, drainage impact assessments, Flood Risk Assessments and adoption packages for S104, S38 and S278 approvals, ensuring that all outputs meet current standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, undertake site assessments, liaise with clients and regulatory bodies, and provide guidance to junior team members to maintain high technical standards.
  • Manage workloads, coordinate project resources and deliver design packages within agreed timescales, with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and InfoDrainage.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' civil and drainage design experience.
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered status preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of SuDS, drainage design, external works and adoptable standards.
  • Skilled in Civil 3D, AutoCAD and InfoDrainage.
  • Confident communicator able to engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
