Senior Chef - £17.99 per hour

Contract: 35 hours per week

Working Hours: On a 4-week rota, shift times between 8am-5:15pm, including alternate weekends

Shaw Healthcare is looking for a Senior Chef to join the team at New Elmcroft in Shoreham-by-Sea, a bright, spacious care home with 60 en-suite beds, opened in 2008.

You will work with our Home Manager, Nutritional Therapist, and staff to ensure high-quality, home-cooked meals are provided daily. Building rapport with residents and their families to meet dietary needs is essential. Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing, cooking, and serving meals in a timely manner
• Catering for cultural preferences and celebrations
• Ordering supplies within budget and company policy, using approved suppliers in the absence of the senior cook
• Maintaining accurate catering records in accordance with HACCP
• Participating in inspections by Environmental Health and/or care regulators and Local Authorities
• Maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen following HACCP and COSHH guidelines
• Supporting a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring health & safety compliance
• Managing the Catering Team
