Overview

Hargreaves Lansdown is seeking a Senior Category Manager to join our team on a fixed‑term, 12‑month contract. The role is full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid flexible working pattern that allows you to work from home and come into the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end‑to‑end procurement activities for the defined business area, supporting the full supplier lifecycle from market assessment to commercial contract negotiation and ongoing supplier management.
  • Develop and execute category plans aligned with business and technology strategy, ensuring resilience, risk mitigation and commercial value for the organisation.
  • Drive the sustainable savings target for the financial year, managing risk, performance and governance for suppliers and ensuring alignment to the ESG plan.
  • Negotiate commercial contracts, structure agreements to protect the brand and drive value throughout the contract term, including post‑contract protection for price rises.
  • Establish robust governance frameworks to manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, risk and commercial value, and protect the brand across the contract lifecycle.
Key Qualifications
  • Excellent negotiation and problem‑solving skills with experience in leading high‑value, complex, outsourcing and offshoring negotiations.
  • Experience working across the business, building category plans and delivering cost savings, supplier resilience and governance to mitigate risk and deliver performance.
  • Strong data analytics skills, able to understand financial, economic, risk and contractual data and consolidate it into easy‑to‑read documents and presentations.
  • Knowledge of technology, cloud, AI and automation, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks through strategy and commercial negotiation.
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape in a financial services environment, including EBA guidelines on outsourcing.
