Job Description:
The Opportunity:
Join the Electronics Procurement Category Management team as a Senior Category Buyer, focusing on electronics and interconnect & cable assemblies. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier and stakeholder relationships.
What you’ll do:
- Define and implement category strategies.
- Analyze spend categories to assess impact on business and identify potential actions.
- Develop strategic sourcing to reduce costs, ensure timely delivery, and maintain high supply quality.
- Oversee suppliers and subcontractors to verify compliance with contractual terms, monitor performance, and address critical issues with recovery plans.
What we need from you:
- Experience in defining and implementing category strategies.
- Support strategic Make or Buy decisions, vertical integration, and M&A strategies.
- Conduct risk analyses to mitigate purchasing risks.
- Support offset strategies and develop external cost analyses.
- Assist sales in developing economical offers.
- Analyze categories to identify potential actions.
- Determine optimal supplier numbers and mixes.
- Collaborate with internal functions to provide purchasing solutions.
- Perform market trend analysis and business intelligence activities.
- Apply relevant sourcing strategies by macrocategory.
- Support tactical Make or Buy decisions and operational procurement as needed.
- Define long-term sourcing strategies with suppliers.
- Monitor supply contracts and develop recovery plans for critical issues.
