You will be based at our modern purpose built air-conditioned Head Office in the vibrant city centre of Cardiff. Cardiff is an accessible city with strong transport links, and London is under 2 hours away by train.

Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Plans and builds a commercially balanced range, whilst achieving margin targets as set by company;
  • Drives regular departmental product reviews, ensuring coordination across departments in terms of trends, looks and colour palettes.
  • Deep understanding of fabrics, garment constructions and the whole buying process with a strong print eye.
  • Operates an effective and timely product sign off process, in line with the critical path and planning cycle;
  • Leading the department in driving trend-led collections with the right level newness / fashion / trend.
  • Takes responsibility for maximising profit on the department through strong negotiation and development of global supplier relations;
  • Trade the department and analyse relevance of new and emerging trends for the brand and plan accordingly.
  • Works collaboratively with the merchandising team to monitor and control trade, in order to ensure stock turn, margin targets and profit levels are achieved;
Candidate skills and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience at Buyer level within a Fashion retailer.
  • Proven track record of developing and trading highly commercial fashion ranges that exceed sales / profit targets.
  • Deep understanding of fabrics, garment construction and the whole buying process with a strong print eye.
  • A passion for trends who excels in driving newness in a fast paced environment.
  • Experienced in negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value, cost prices, and lead times.
