Contract Business Analyst – Finance (ERP Discovery)

Retail | Outside IR35 | Hybrid (London) | 3 months initial

We are supporting a leading UK luxury retail and e-commerce brand as they begin the discovery phase of a major ERP transformation programme. They are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to lead the finance stream, working closely with stakeholders to define future-state processes, costing methodologies, and system requirements.

You will:

  • Engage with finance stakeholders to elicit, evaluate, and prioritise requirements
  • Perform impact analysis on proposed changes to costing methodology (e.g., standard cost vs weighted average)
  • Lead workshops to align decision-makers on key finance design principles
  • Deliver high-quality discovery artefacts including:
    • Business context model
    • As-is / To-be process maps
    • User stories and journeys
    • RAID logs
    • MoSCoW-prioritised requirements
  • Map current interfaces, data flow methods, and timings
  • Help define cost of ownership models (e.g., cost per transaction)
  • Identify low-effort opportunities for efficiency within finance processes

You must have:

  • Strong finance background, ideally with a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience in at least two ERP replacement programmes
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 Finance & Operations
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and drive alignment on key decisions
  • Excellent documentation and analytical skills
