Senior / Chartered Building Surveyor – Birmingham

Up to £55,000 p/a + Bonus & Excellent Benefits

A highly respected multi-disciplinary consultancy is continuing its growth and success in Birmingham and is now looking to appoint a passionate and driven Senior / Chartered Building Surveyor to join its expanding Building Surveying team. This role comes with a clear path to progression — with the opportunity to step into a Senior Surveyor position and beyond.

The Opportunity:

Based in Birmingham, the successful candidate will join an experienced team of Building Surveyors focused on key national client accounts. This team delivers high-quality technical support across varied commercial, retail, and educational portfolios.

As the team grows, this role offers the chance to step into a leadership capacity — supporting junior colleagues, managing workloads, and playing a part in shaping the team's continued development.

How you'll drive success:

  • Lead and develop detailed briefs alongside clients and senior colleagues
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Support business development activities with senior colleagues
  • Produce designs, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Administer JCT building contracts
  • Undertake the full scope of professional surveying duties:

(Condition surveys, defect analysis, party wall, dilapidations, feasibilities)

  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and consultants
  • Assist the team leader with mentoring staff and managing project finances

The essentials:

  • Background in advising on commercial, retail, or education sector projects
  • Competency in AutoCAD / Revit is beneficial (training available)
  • Familiarity with NBS Chorus
  • Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel across the UK
  • Excellent communication skills and strong commercial awareness

Still not enough?

  • Salary up to £55,000 p/a (DOE)
  • Performance bonus + car allowance (where applicable)
  • 25 days holiday + option to buy/sell/carry over
  • Private medical cover, GP access & discounted gym membership
  • Life assurance, income protection, and pension scheme
  • Hybrid and flexible working model
  • Structured career development plan

This is an excellent opportunity to step into a role that offers both autonomy and progression, working alongside a forward-thinking and supportive team on a diverse portfolio of projects.
