Job description
Senior Building Surveyor

Location: Glebe Street, ST4 1RN

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 4+ months

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Pay Rate: £ 39.13 per hour

Job Responsibilities
  • Review and approve building applications and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage major projects for partner companies, both within and outside the partnership area.
  • Act as the Building Authority for safety matters at sports grounds.
  • Handle dangerous structures and related issues, including out-of-hours work.
  • Prepare reports and initiate legal actions against non-compliance.
  • Assist in developing plans and procedures to enhance service delivery.
  • Train and develop building control staff.
  • Promote the partnership initiative to potential clients.
  • Maintain data security and confidentiality.
  • Use IT tools to support building control services.
Person Specifications
Must Have
  • Expert knowledge of Building Regulations and construction techniques.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Membership in a professional body like the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Experience in project management and partnership contracts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and IT skills.
  • Ability to handle dangerous structures and fire safety legislation.
