What is the opportunity? The Data Governance & Quality, Senior Associate will support the successful delivery of Wealth Management Europe’s (WME) Data Governance capabilities and strategy. You will be responsible for capturing and managing business and technical metadata. Further responsibilities include the documentation of end‑to‑end lineage in Collibra, supporting business glossary work, implementing data quality controls and the management of data quality dashboards.
- Develop and implement an enterprise‑wide data management framework (including data governance, metadata management and data quality), policies and standards.
- Establish and deploy the centralised data catalogue, centralised business glossary, data lineage capability, data profiling capability, data quality rule engine and centralised data quality issue management solution.
- Discovers and documents data lineage to trace the end‑to‑end data journey from point of creation to consumption.
- Partners with operations, technology and other business areas to document data quality controls.
- Support the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data catalogues.
- Assist in data lifecycle management, including classification, retention, and disposal strategies.
- Support change projects across business and technology teams to improve how our business uses data.
- Develop data quality dashboards and implement data quality triage processes to address quality issues, providing proposals for prioritisation by supplying impact statements and supporting key performance indicators.
- Promote the use of metadata for enhancing data discoverability, compliance and collaboration across business and IT teams.
- Develop data governance guidelines and conduct trainings to various teams to promote data governance.
- Ensure all data related change remained aligned to existing standards and/or internal enterprise data governance policies.
- Work with the Chief Data Office to ensure that activities are addressed in the business lines to support the Data Strategy.
What do you need to succeed? Must‑have
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related field or 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Self‑motivated, cooperative, and collaborative attitude.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written / verbal communication skills and the ability to present or communicate complex concepts in a concise and understandable way to various stakeholders.
- Logical understanding of data flow.
- Advanced expertise in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra).
- Advanced SQL skills and familiarity with some scripting languages for data profiling automation.
- Proficient with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI.
- Experience in using Information Analyzer, Atacama or similar data quality tools.
- Experience in using software development tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps.
- Experience using business analysis and requirements modelling tools, such as data flow diagrams, relationship data models, business process modelling.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of Agile techniques.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, data lineage and metadata management concepts.
