Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Asset Accountant to join a leading energy business in Aberdeen on a contract basis. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate joint venture accounting and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

The Role:

• Delivering effective accounting and reporting for allocated assets.
• Managing PRE (Person Responsible for Expenditure) processes, forecasts, budgets, and AFEs.
• Reviewing accruals, invoices, payments, journals, and joint venture billings.
• Preparing/reviewing monthly asset reports, partner reports, and corporate variance commentaries.
• Supporting joint venture audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintaining Oracle ERP master data.
• Attending asset meetings as Finance representative.
• Supervising and developing the JV Assistant Accountant.

About You:

• Degree qualified in accounting or related subject.
• Professionally qualified accountant (ICAS / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent).
• Strong experience in joint venture accounting, ideally within an oil and gas operator.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Oracle experience preferred.
