Job summary

A respected multi-disciplinary practice just outside Portsmouth is seeking a Senior Architect to lead a growing architecture team. This strategic hire involves mentoring Architects and Technicians, managing project delivery, and ensuring quality across a diverse portfolio including commercial, education, and healthcare projects. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Architect with leadership experience and a strong commercial background, confident in balancing team leadership with hands-on project work. Eligible candidates will be UK residents with the capability for DBS Enhanced & SC clearance.

Konker is working with a respected multi-disciplinary practice just outside Portsmouth to recruit a Senior Architect to help grow their architecture team.

This is a strategic hire, stepping into a leadership role within a team of 11, and overall 24 in the practice.

You’ll mentor and manage Architects and Technicians, oversee project delivery, and ensure quality across a varied portfolio.

Projects span commercial, MOD, education, and healthcare, offering both technical challenge and people leadership.

Alongside managing the team, you’ll stay hands‑on with delivery, reviewing and coordinating packages (mainly in AutoCAD, with some Revit).

To Be Considered:

• Senior Architect
• Qualified Architect with leadership / management experience
• Strong commercial background (MOD, healthcare, education a bonus)
• Confident balancing team leadership with hands‑on project work
• Client‑facing, deadline‑driven, and consistent in delivery
