Job description

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

At Raspberry Pi, we are proud to foster an environment where those who work with us can do what they love and do it well. By joining Raspberry Pi, you'll be adding to a lean and passionate team dedicated to democratising technology and providing affordable access to computing tools to people across the globe.

We are looking for a permanent, full-time candidate to join the Finance team as a Management Accountant. This position is based at our Cambridge office on the Science Park and is full time. A minimum of four days per week in the office is expected.

About Raspberry Pi

Founded as a charity in 2008 and selling its first computer in 2012, today Raspberry Pi is two separate organisations in two locations:

  • Here at Raspberry Pi Ltd, we build best-selling computers, microcontrollers, and supporting software for industrial and embedded customers as well as home users worldwide.
  • Raspberry Pi Foundation is a charitable enterprise dedicated to enabling all young people to realise their full potential through computing.
Key Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who will be principally responsible for inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intangibles, and other ad hoc areas. Below is a non-exhaustive list of some key tasks you would be expected to perform:

  • Inventory management: Overseeing inventory movements, conducting quality control, and making adjustments; managing semiconductor and memory inventories; attending and overseeing all stock counts, including quarterly counts located in Wales; helping the team with queries.
  • Accounts payable: Checking and overseeing inventory accounting entries on invoices; managing monthly payment offsets for key suppliers.
  • Accounts receivable: Credit control management, including escalation to credit insurers; quarterly reviews of credit limits; royalty invoicing; helping the team with queries.
  • Intangibles: Reviewing correct accounting for capital expenditure (capex) projects, maintaining control over accounting for new capex projects, and reporting on capex; reviewing accounting for intellectual property on an ongoing basis; supporting the Head of Tax with RDEC claims.
  • Month end: Reconciling balance sheets, including capital expenditure, intangibles, prepayments, and royalty accruals; performing full inventory reconciliations.
  • Audit: Supporting external auditors with year-end and half-year audits, particularly in respect of inventory and intangibles.
Requirements

Raspberry Pi values pragmatic, independent thinkers who are comfortable engaging with external customers and partners, as well as internal stakeholders at all levels of seniority. We operate in a highly collaborative work environment, and the successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

In addition, candidates should have:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA)
  • Strong Excel skills

Experience with Xero and Unleashed is preferable but not essential. An ability to proactively learn new systems and be a self‑starter is, however, essential.

Benefits

We also offer the following benefits:

  • Employer pension contributions of 8% when the employee contributes 4% of their gross salary into the company salary sacrifice pension scheme
  • Life assurance of 4× base salary
  • Income protection of 75% of base salary in the event of critical illness, commencing after 13 weeks of long-term illness or absence from work
  • Private medical insurance (medical history disregarded)
  • Access to our electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, subject to eligibility
