SEND Teaching Assistant

Salary: 90 - 110 per day / Pay to Scale (annum)
Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school in East London. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across a range of age groups in a nurturing and forward‑thinking environment.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored support to students with SEND, including those with EHCPs and additional learning needs.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning strategies.
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development through 1:1 and small group interventions.
• Promote independence and confidence in learners while ensuring their safety and well‑being.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of strategies to support students with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other learning difficulties.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Ability to commute reliably to East London.
