SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Location: Chorley Monday to Friday | Term-Time Only Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a caring, adaptable and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and provide support for pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children who benefit from additional help to reach their full potential — academically, socially, and emotionally. About the Role: Working closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers, your role will involve: Supporting individual pupils or small groups with learning, behaviour, or emotional needs Assisting with the implementation of EHCP targets and individual support plans Adapting classroom materials to suit different learning styles and needs Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence Providing personal care or mobility support where required (training provided) We’re Looking For Someone Who: Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties) Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff Is calm, reliable and able to respond flexibly to the needs of the day Has a positive, pupil-centred approach with clear boundaries Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when needed Desirable: A relevant Level 2/3 TA or SEN qualification Experience with EHCPs, Makaton, PECS or other communication tools Previous experience in a specialist provision or inclusive mainstream setting In Return, We Offer: A supportive, collaborative team environment Ongoing professional development and SEND-specific training A rewarding role where you’ll see your impact every day To apply or learn more, please contact sara.r@axcis.co.uk.
