Overview

Job Title: SEND Lead

Salary: £26,194 - £27,615 (pro rata)

Location: Multiple Sites

Hours and Weeks per Year: 30 hours / 40 weeks

Responsibilities
  • Join other dedicated professionals to manage a team of staff within a curriculum area while providing exceptional student support and preparing young people for adulthood.
  • Provide high quality support across the college, working with the SENDCO to ensure appropriate plans and strategies are in place to support students from school transitions, into, through and out of college to a positive destination.
  • Line manage a team of support workers, including timetabling, provide interventions from available data, and oversee the EHCP process including annual reviews.
  • Ensure students feel valued and well supported in preparation for adulthood.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use judgement and initiative in complex situations leading to successful outcomes in SEND support.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C).
  • Educated to minimum Level 3 in Learning Support.
  • Trained in moving and handling, administering medication and 1st aid or be willing to obtain within 2 years.
  • Ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
