Overview

Are you an inspirational, driven, and enthusiastic SEND Teacher who wants to make a long-term, positive difference to the lives, progress and development of children? Prospero Teaching is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Class Teacher to work in one of our inspirational Alternative Provision settings in Newcastle on a full-time, long-term basis to start ASAP. Applications from ECTs are welcome and there will be opportunities for part of the ECT qualification to be completed whilst in the role. The school supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary age range.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver lessons to small classes of pupils with a wide range of SEMH.
  • Manage potential challenging behaviour with resilience and effective communication.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
  • Differentiated lesson planning and collaboration with staff to ensure all pupils make progress and are taught in a way suited to their individual needs and learning styles.
About the School

The role is based in an inspirational Alternative Provision in Newcastle for pupils aged 5-18 who have been excluded from mainstream school. The school supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary age-range with SEND such as SEMH and ASD, as well as challenging behaviour. The school has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract
  • Pay: Between £130-180 per day
  • Hours: 08:30-16:00
  • Contract: Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026 (Temporary Contract)
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Location: Newcastle
Experience, Qualifications and Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
