SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Day-to-day supply from as soon as possible

These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings.

Duties as SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
  • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals
  • Foster positive relationships to build confidence and engagement
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress
  • Promote inclusion and encourage independence in learning and social situations
Ideal SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 capacity
  • Knowledge of a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to different school environments and pupil needs
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
