Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Lancashire. Tempest Education are working with a Primary School in Warrington (Newton Le Willows)

The School are looking to appoint the Teaching Assistant on the 19th January.

The role is supporting a pupil in KS1 on a 1:1 basis. You will be expected to delivery personalised interventions and activities which are tailored to the particular child you will be supporting.

This role is for the full academic year and there is potential for this role to become permanent.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the team and provide personalised support for children ensuring they receive the assistance they need to thrive in their education. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the implementation of personalised learning plans for SEN students
  • Support children working at a level below expected
  • Personal care
  • Plan and deliver interventions
  • Phonics support
  • Offering 1:1 and small group support for children with ASD.
  • Helping create a nurturing, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting classroom activities and adapting resources to meet student's needs
  • Encouraging social, emotional, and academic development
  • Collaborating with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, especially those with SEN, is highly desirable
  • Patience, compassion, and a positive approach to supporting children's learning
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for working in education and helping children succeed
  • An enhanced DBS update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Minimum 6 months experience within a School environment
