SEN Teaching Assistant Primary School (Birmingham)

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time only
Salary: £85–£100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join our friendly and inclusive Birmingham primary schools.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils with a range of additional needs including autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND
  • Assisting with classroom management and differentiated learning
  • Supporting pupils to develop independence, confidence, and social skills
  • Liaising with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure each child thrives
  • Contributing to a nurturing, inclusive and positive learning environment
About You
  • Patient, empathetic and enthusiastic about helping children succeed
  • Experienced in supporting children with SEN (school-based experience preferred)
  • Confident working as part of a team and using their initiative
  • Adaptable, reliable and proactive in supporting classroom learning
  • (Ideally) Level 2 or 3 qualified in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
