About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work in a variety of primary schools across Portsmouth. These SEN units are tailored to support children with autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and complex needs. Each day brings a new experience as you support pupils in inclusive, nurturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and group support for children with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
- Assist in implementing tailored learning and behaviour plans for pupils with a range of needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Support pupils' emotional and social development, encouraging independence and confidence.
- Adapt to new settings quickly, bringing energy and a proactive approach to each school you work in.
