SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Blandford, Dorset
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £90 – £100 per day
Start Date: January 2026

Axcis Education is looking for a skilled Teaching Assistant to join a high-quality SEN provision in Blandford Forum. This role involves offering dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of complex needs. This is a highly fulfilling opportunity to provide stability, encouragement, and tailored assistance, enabling students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The school offers a well-developed specialist curriculum alongside access to extensive therapeutic and clinical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualised 1:1 assistance to help students stay engaged and on track
  • Work alongside teachers to prepare and deliver creative, personalised learning activities
  • Support pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development through consistent, reliable guidance
  • Encourage progress in communication, social skills, independence, and daily living
  • Contribute to a calm, structured, and positive classroom atmosphere
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and wider professionals as part of a trauma-informed, holistic approach
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships to ensure pupils feel safe and valued
