Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley
Salary Scale: £86 to £100 per day
Start Date: September
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs? We have the perfect opportunity for you! Our schools in Barnsley are seeking empathetic and skilled SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team from September. This is a temporary to permanent role and a rewarding chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in providing tailored support that enables students to achieve their full potential. The Role:
In this position, you will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them navigate both academic and social challenges. Your primary responsibilities include:

  1. Specialised Support: Provide targeted assistance to students, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs.
  2. Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of students, offering feedback to teachers and parents to ensure that they are reaching key developmental milestones.
  3. Emotional Support: Create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, offering emotional guidance to help students manage their challenges effectively.
  4. Communication: Maintain strong lines of communication with teachers, parents, and professionals involved in each student's education, ensuring a holistic approach to their development.
  5. Promoting Inclusion: Encourage a sense of belonging for students, promoting social integration and inclusivity within the school community.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  2. Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. The ability to work collaboratively within a team, adapting to meet the unique needs of each student.
  5. Experience in implementing individualised learning plans (IEPs) and supporting students in both one-on-one and group settings is advantageous.
