About the Role:

Our client is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their Alternative Provision setting. This role is open to qualified teachers or unqualified teachers with substantial SEN experience. The successful candidate will support learners with a range of Special Educational Needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver lessons across Maths, English, Science, PSHE, and PE. Support will be provided for subjects where you have less experience.
  • Deliver personalised learning strategies to meet the needs of SEN learners.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment with strong behaviour management.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and preparation of classroom resources tailored to SEN learners.
Person Specification:
  • Experience working with SEN learners, preferably in an alternative provision setting.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to teach across multiple subjects; support provided for less familiar areas.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Flexible, resilient, and committed to promoting students' welfare, engagement, and academic progress.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable, but unqualified teachers with extensive SEN experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Relevant SEN training or experience is highly desirable.
